Home and Aways Team ⚽️

How It works

This is a fun game to try to predict 5 home wins and 5 away wins in the English and Scottish major leagues.

There are weekly prizes during the football season and big prizes at the end of the end of the season which goes to the highest scoring individual(s).

In addition you can select a Joker this is a selection that doubles the point score for that line so for each prediction week any correct home forecasts are awarded 1 point, away forecasts are awarded 2 points, if your selection includes the Joker then the points for that line are doubled.

Points in summary

The Points scoring system are as follows

1 Point for a home
2 Points for an away

Double points for a Joker on a line, so if an Away joker was correctly forecast makes 4 points, a home joker would make 2 points.

An extra 5 points for correctly forecasting all home selections.
An extra 5 points for correctly forecasting all away selections.

Plus 2 Extra points for forecasting all home and aways

Maximum score for this game is

5(Home)+10(Away)+2(Away Joker)+5(Bonus Home)+5(Bonus Away) +2(Clean sweep) = 29

Hall of Fame

If you correctly forecast all of your home selections you are awarded 5 points on top and if you get all of you away selections correct you are awarded an extra 5 points, if you correctly forecast all of home and away selections you get an extra 2 points this is known as a clean sweep this will earn you a place in the exclusive hall of fame.

There are two games a year at the moment, usually at the beginning of the season and half way through the season just after new year.

If you are interested in playing and haven't already, please register for an account by clicking on the 'Sign Up' form and we will get in contact when the next season starts.

Setup and rules

If you are a new player and you have joined up and made payment you will be set up with a username and password if you haven’t already done this yourself via the website, or asked one of the Home and Aways Team to set you up.

Any existing players please use the password you used for the last game you played. Please note you will only be able to make selections in once payment has been received.

Website is www.homeandaways.com

If you want to change your password then select the option under the “profile and membership” section and complete the boxes.

The idea of the game is to predict 5 home wins and 5 away wins from the Top 4 English and Scottish football league weekend fixtures. You also get to nominate one of your predictions as your joker.

Firstly log into the site using your username and password. Once logged in you will see a list of options on the left hand side of the page.

This brings you the English and Scottish league fixture listings for that weekend (Saturday and Sunday only).

You select 5 home teams and 5 away teams (tick the box beside each team) plus you get to use your joker on one of your selections by ticking the joker box on the right hand side of the respective fixture.

The game is played on a league basis over 5 months, either starting in Jaunary and concludes at the end of the season or starts at the beginning of the league season (Usially August) and concludes Just before Christmas.

You score points by getting:

1 point for each correct home win
2 points for each correct away win

Double points if you play your joker on a correct home or away prediction (doubles from 1 point to 2
points, or from 2 points to 4 respectively).

Tip: Always try and place your joker on an away selection to try and maximise your points....
5 bonus points if you correctly predict all of your homes
5 bonus points if you correctly predict all of your aways
A bonus 2 points on top if you get all ten predictions. The maximum score you can get in any week is 29 points.

When you have made your entire selections make sure you click the save button at the bottom of the screen. This will generate an email to your account listing your selections for that week. The cut off point for making your selections is noon on the Friday before each weekend so make sure you select yours in time. After 12.00 noon the system will no longer accept selections for that week. You can however change your selections as many times as you like before the cut off time by un-ticking the selection you want to change and ticking your replacement selection - just make sure you click the save button each time to generate a new confirmation email. This is your “receipt” showing that you have made your selections in time to make you keep it.

The entry fee of £35 consists of £20 for the main game plus £15 for the weekly accumulator prize.

There are cash prizes for the top 10 places at the end of the season. The prizes are dependent upon how many players there are. The confirmed prize fund for the next game will be announced shortly before the next game starts.

There is also a weekly accumulator pot, which goes to the highest individual top score for that week. If there is no outright winner then the pot rolls over to the next week and so on. The weekly accumulator prize is dependent upon the number of entries. This means that every player who enters the accumulator has the chance to win money each week irrespective of their overall position.

You will receive an email each Monday confirming your points tally for the previous weekend along with a table showing all other players’ selections and scores. The results are loaded on to the site within an hour of the final whistle so if you can’t wait until the Monday you can log into the site to see how your score compares with others.

If you know of any new players wishing to join up please speak to a member below or e-mail the following address: season2024@homeandaways.co.uk
